Today

Well, perruche_verte, phoenixredux and I tried to go and see Obama this afternoon. We got downtown and found the line, and started walking to find the END of the line. The line kept going and going, around the Target Center, across the street and over the bridges towards 94 and the Metro Transit headquarters. It did a big loop in front of the Metro Transit Headquarters, then kept going off towards the 94 entrance. We got into the line before it reached 94, but it was SERIOUSLY LONG. About a mile long, and it wasn't anything near single file, it was a wide sidewalk packed with people.

Obama line
C is where the line started, B is where it doubled back on itself by Metro Transit (using both sides of the street), and A is about where we ended up. The line continued beyond us after we got there.

1.2 miles! And that was just one of the lines, for people with internet tickets. There was another line in the skyway and through Block E. We stood in the unmoving line for awhile after the doors opened, then figured we weren't getting in (the free internet tickets didn't guarantee entry), and if we were the event would run so late that we wouldn't make it to our plans later in the evening. So we left. We went and shopped the last day of Borders Books sale, at least 40% off everything, then went home.
