VOTE! and BE INFORMED!

Tomorrow, you are going to go and vote, assuming you are a human over the age of 18 who is a citizen of the United States, and that you haven't voted early or had your voting rights irretrievably taken away. I expect that of you. If you don't vote, politicians have no reason to care about or even pay attention to what you want. Demographics with higher voter turnout have more influence on politics. You could call it an unfair advantage, except in some cases no one is stopping these people from voting - they just don't do it.

I am not going to tell you who I think you should vote for. You should make your own informed choice. That's the whole point.

Most of us know who we're voting for for president, and maybe a few of the other major races/ballot amendments. But there are probably races that you don't know much about, such as judges and school board. They matter too. Now is the time to get a little information on them. If you're a Minnesota voter, the Star Tribune's online MyVote feature is useful for getting the basic information on everything that will be on your ballot:

I like to vote for the people/party that I usually support, but I'm sick and tired of being blamed for who ever loses each position.

"If you would have voted for candidate X, instead of a third party guy, X would have won..."

I doubt this year will be any different, but despite the aggravation I can sleep at night because I got to make my own informed choice.

You rock btw.

Thanks for posting that link! It was helpful to review what is going to be on the ballot before heading to the polls.

Yes, though I don't know how late I'll be there, as I'm responsible for reporting election results for one polling place to the media, so 'll have to wait for that. Others will be there earlier, though.
