Our lovely eccentric tree

I am at my parents' decorating their Christmas tree. It wouldn't be Christmas at home without ornaments like this:

Santa in a UFO

Goddess Kali playing a sitar, and other festive decorations from various cultures, some having zilch to do with Christmas, or even the season.

Multicultural angels, including one with a distinct penis (For an angel, that's supposedly NOT anatomically correct).

Many birds and a reindeer, but also frogs, lizards, and unicorns.

Shiny bicycle parts, and a little festive kayak.

Various ornaments my sister and I made as children, including pinecones I painted purple and gold, for no reason I remember. I think I just liked the colors.

well, in our house we have ornaments that we made as kids too... we have this one that I made when in like preschool or kindergarten, its a styrofoam egg painted with silver glitter spray paint, and toothpicks stuck all over in it. it is sooooo UGLY! it has actually become a joke in the family- it is always the last ornament on the tree, and the 3 kids, (my brothers and I) stand at a given distance (usually across the room) and throw it at the tree hoping it lands somewhere nice... and wherever it lands on the tree it stays. how's that for an X-mas tradition?
