An Unusual Wedding

I'm going to a party tonight which is a commitment ceremony, or, if you wish to call it that, a wedding. A rather unusual one. Not because it is two women pledging their love and commitment for each other. I don't find that unusual, do you? Not because the whole thing has a 1980s prom theme, which is odd but no more so than many other weddings.

It is unusual because these two women do not have a sexual relationship with each other. They date men. They have been best friends since they were Catholic schoolgirls together, and have been living together for the past few years. They have created this ceremony to declare themselves sisters. (No, not nuns, they left the Catholocism behind.) Sisters to each other.

Sweet, huh?

completely off topic - What's the name of that lake we were talking about, up at the BWCA? Wasn't it Entry Lake? I tried looking it up, but I think I have the name wrong.

Wow, that is off-topic! Snowbank Lake. My dad and I often go up there the last weekend of August. You and Sirena would be welcome to come camping with us sometime.

That would be awesome.

Your dad seems like a neat guy. I'm glad I got to meet your family. They're pretty cool.
