BABYS BB Smoothie recipe

Tonight I created the BABYS BB Smoothie. Beets, apricots, bananas, yogurt, soymilk, blackberries, blueberries. It was created in accordance with:

1. What was on sale at Rainbow recently
2. What needed to be used up
3. My own special weirdness

But its really good, and not even in a very weird way, though it is one of my weirder smoothies. And kinda neon colored, especially before I added the blackberries. Rough recipe- Liquefy in your blender:

1 large beet.
2 apricots, underripe is okay
As many overripe bananas as you can put in without it tasting too banana-y (which is a lot-more than in most smoothies)
A few spoonfuls of plain yogurt, including that yogurtwater stuff that builds up.
Enough soymilk to make it sufficiently liquid - not much needed.
1 pkg each blueberries and blackberries (on sale at Rainbow now)

It would be fine in various modified forms, though. You just need to taste it periodically while blending htings in and add more of what it seems to need.

I'm with you on everything but the beet.

The beet is surprisingly good in it. It gives it a slight earthy taste, but otherwise not so crazy.

I'll pass on the beets ....

Beets in a smoothie is just WRONG (much like wheatgrass).

In fact I'll venture as far to say that Beets are just wrong in anything ....

Apparently some of my flist were traumatized by badly-prepared beets as children or something.
