a wish

I wish there were two of me, so I could live two different lives

though they'd really be one

they would sync up each night while I slept, like computers merging data

and become each time the same being twice over, to each start afresh in the morning

so I could make both choices every time

so my choices couldn't hurt those not chosen that time

I think two would be enough, wouldn't it?

Two would only help until you came across a dreaded multiple choice monster. Then you'd be in a pickle.

If every situation you come to only has two choices, I envy you greatly. I'd need like 10 of me. lol!

It sounds nice though. I couldn't imagine how much I could I get done with two of me! But I'd best at least twice as much. :)

This is why I find the Many Worlds interpretation of Quantum Mech appealing. If for every quantum state that is possible, there exists a world in which that state is the case, then assuming my choices are in some way related to the state of the universe, for every choice I could have made, there exists very many worlds in which I made the choices that I did not choose in this and similar worlds.

But, yeah, I too want to do it all, and somehow remember it. So, I recommend to you a book, Kiln People(B&N link), by David Brin. I'd lend you my copy, but for the distance.

Yes, it's good to think I'm making the other choice in the universe next door. But that doesn't give me the experience and the knowledge from it.

I just requested that book from the library on your recommendation. Along somewhate similar lines, I'd recommend the graphic novel "Adventures of Luther Arkwright" by Bryan Talbot.
